Case Studies at SVI
We are now accepting applications for Case Studies.
Deadline: Wednesday, September 12th by 5PM.
Case
Studies are the core of the Social Venture Institute model and where
some of the greatest learning happens. In selecting case studies, we
look for several key components: enterprises at various stages of
growth, well-framed and articulated problem statements, and
opportunities to draw larger lessons for the whole group. We ask you to
focus on one major strategic challenge that you are currently facing.
Please choose a challenge that fits into one of these categories:
• Sales and Marketing: Overcoming Sales & Marketing Challenges
• Managing Organizational Growth: Human Resources and Management Transitions
• Business Financing: Raising Equity and Debt Capital
In
the Case Study sessions, the selected participants will briefly
describe their situation and answer follow-up questions from a panel of
expert respondents, who will then give their feedback and advice while
drawing practical lessons for the larger group. The audience will also
be asked to participate by sharing their feedback and ideas. We have
found this to be a very powerful way for the entire group to gain a
wealth of practical ideas about how to manage the challenges of running
a socially responsible enterprise.

Testimonials from last year's Case Studies:
Candace Karch, Bambi Gallery:
I
knew that SVI would (at the very least) be a good jump-start for the
next stage of my business planning. SVI exceeded my expectations. The
chance for un-biased, thoughtful feedback from a real mix of people is
incalculable. The take-aways are all positive and empowering!
Cheryl Ann Wadlington, Evoluer Image Consultants, LLC:
I
highly recommend the opportunity to potential presenters. There are
not many outlets like SVI where small businesses can receive objective
advice from professionals who are not just successful in their fields,
but dare to think outside of the box.
